Mission Statement
Inspired for ministry by the grace of God in Jesus Christ,
Reaching Hearts Brazil is committed to the proclamation of the
Gospel message of our Lord in Brazil and around the world.
Project Goals
Reaching Hearts Brazil project will foster and support:
1. The establishment and maintenance of schools of evangelism
for laymen throughout Brazil to prepare self-supporting
missionaries and Bible workers for the purpose of “reaching the
unreached.”
2. The development and recording of quality Christian
programming with special focus on end-time events and Bible
prophecy, as well as program development on Christian counseling
and healthful living.
In order to accomplish these goals Reaching Hearts Brazil
established a non-profit organization in Brazil under the name
ABRAÇO-BR (Associação Benemérita e Religiosa Alcançando Corações
Brasil). It is registered in São Paulo under federal ID # CNPJ
10.3334.358/0001-04.
Goal # 1:
School of Evangelism for Laymen
In Old Testament times, the schools of the prophets was an
educational environment established by God to transform the life
and strengthen the character of young people for His service.
We want to follow our Lord’s leading by creating a school
environment suited for teaching and preparing laymen to be
evangelists who are dedicated to the mission of saving souls for
eternity. As a result, Reaching Hearts Brazil has established a
school of evangelism where a lay person can have practical,
hands-on experience while learning to lead people to Christ and
teaching them the Biblical truth so necessary for the times in
which we live.
Reaching Hearts Brazil will offer FREE schooling, room, and
board to approved volunteer missionaries who are willing to
participate in a three-month intensive lay evangelism course.
The students will be trained in methods of evangelism and will
learn to proclaim with clarity the Three Angel’s Messages for
the end of time.
Upon conclusion of the course, the missionary evangelist will be
trained and capable of “reaching the unreached” and opening new
areas for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The missionary
evangelist will be able to “duplicate” the training he has
received and carry out all activities related to public
evangelism---including preparing the field (pre-work), home
visitation, personal Bible studies, and public evangelistic
meetings.
Goal # 2: Development and Production of Quality Christian
Programming
By the grace of God, during 2008, our Brazilian evangelist,
Maiza Ribeiro, produced 22 sermons in Portuguese. This series
was entitled “Revelation: Hope or Fear?” The series, made
available via Internet, was also aired on RIT TV (Florida) at
12:30 pm on Saturdays from July 5 through December, 2008.
A second series of 34 programs containing the history of
inspirational music entitled “Praise and Adoration” was recently
completed. A third series of 35 sermons entitled: “Bible
Prophecies: Hope of the Nations” is presently being prepared and
will be aired in 2009.
All this programming will be provided to evangelism students in
DVD format to be used as an outreach tool in preparing souls for
baptism.
Impact of Project in Fulfilling the Gospel Mission
The Reaching Hearts Brazil project will grow existing SDA
congregations and plant new ones in cooperation with local
conferences in Brazil. Our vision includes “reaching the
unreached” in areas where there is no SDA presence.
The Reaching Hearts Brazil School of Evangelism will be an
unprecedented multiplying factor for church growth in Brazil.
The results will be measured when the first “graduates” return
to their hometowns and start evangelistic campaigns on their
own.
The goal of Reaching Hearts Brazil project is to inspire the
trained evangelists to establish teams among themselves to
finish God’s work in their towns of origin. Hopefully these
teams will be so much on fire for the Lord that they will decide
to become full-time missionary volunteers who can be totally
focused on the work. As an option, they will have the
opportunity to become literature evangelists to support
themselves while preparing the field for public evangelism.
We have already reaped souls as a result of the TV programs.
Since “Revelation: Hope or Fear?” started, scores of Bible
studies have been sent to viewers in the U.S., Brazil, and even
as far away as Europe. Already one family has been baptized in
the Fort Lauderdale area as a direct result of the series.
We trust that God will lead us to open new schools of evangelism
in other areas of Brazil. The Amazon Conference recently
requested Reaching Hearts Brazil to set up a second school of
evangelism in their territory.
